Wikipedia’s definition of Ergonomics is
Ergonomics is the science of designing the job, equipment, and workplace to fit the worker. Proper ergonomic design is necessary to prevent repetitive strain injuries, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.
Continuous use of the computer had slightly given me back pain. I checked my computer table, computer chair and the positioning of its monitor to make sure that it fits well the users, that is me. After a long thought, I think that not only do we make sure that the monitor is a few inches lower than eye level, our keyboard is positioned well not the point of straining our shoulders, and your feet should level the ground well, I have come to a conclusion that the mouse also affects our fingers’ mobility.
I had been using a smaller mouse compared to how much my hand can handle. My fingers had been giving me pain for quite a while now (see my previous posts). I thought why not change my mouse. I bought a bigger-sized mouse enough for my palm and finger grip. From now on, I will make conscious effort to make sure that I will not only get productive but be healthy as well.
